Corona-related everything closed. But that doesn't detract from the grandiose sight of the mountains. And it was a little quieter and more contemplative.

After a long hike we stopped in here - were served good food and cool drinks by a friendly waitress - we will be back.

We hiked from Hinterstein to the Giebelhaus and rewarded ourselves there with Kaiserschmarrn. For us the BEST that we have found far and wide. The service was very friendly and despite the high number of visitors, you didn't have to wait long.

Today we were in the gabled house, despite Corona, spent a cozy hour there. The drinks and the food were delicious, the service friendly and nice. On the next vacation we will then hike to the gabled house.

The gabled house has been a top destination for cyclists since the invention of e-bikes. But the nicest thing is when you get off the high mountains happy and sweaty and have to wait for the bus. Then the gabled house is the first highly welcome contact with civilization with good food and clean toilets. The perfect end to mountain tours in the Hochvogel area.

People like to relax here after a long hike, or just take the Giebelhaus bus here to relax. In September we will come back to Hinterstein for 2 weeks and of course often to the gable house, and are already looking forward to it.

Very nice location, super delicious cuisine. Fresh and relatively quick. A lot of consideration is given to special requests. The food here in the picture is not on the menu. It's fried potatoes with vegetables point I can recommend a stop at any time. The prices are very moderate

We drove from Hinterstein with the bicycles to the gable house and made a rest there. A worthwhile way, because the idyll and view is magnificent. The menu is appealing and not too expensive

Nice destination, if you walk for example from the Nebelhorn over the Koblat, past beautiful mountain lakes, such as the Engeratsgundsee. On the terrace you can then reward yourself with a very tasty snack and a cool wheat. From Giebelhaus you can finally go by bus back over Hinterstein and Bad Hindelang to Oberstdorf. The stop is right in front of the cottage.

Very nice cozy guesthouse in a fantastic location. The food was very good and the service very friendly and outgoing. The inn can be reached on foot, by horse-drawn carriage or by bus, but not by private car. We went by bus through a beautiful winter landscape (10 km), I can only recommend.
